Dangote Group is the largest conglomerate in West Africa, with a presence in 17 countries. Dangote Cement is the largest listed company in West Africa and the first Nigerian company to join the Forbes Global 2000 Companies list.
West African retailers order a wide range of Dangote products via their banks, who as part of the ordering process manage collection as well. Dangote therefore receives a huge number of orders and payments from these banks, and the challenge is to automatically integrate orders and payments into Dangote’s SAP platform.
The retail switch developed for Dangote by Bancore will – without human intervention – process and integrate all retail orders for Dangote products into the SAP: all participating banks and their account holders are given access to a standardised interface, and this method has greatly enhanced the scalability of Dangote’s retail ordering and collection processes. The retail switch has now been operational for more than 4 years, with 100% availability.
